Brett Bobb
Brett Bobb is a junior at Ball State University majoring in Telecommunications-News with a minor in Spanish. He has been a part of Newslink Indiana and WCRD 91.3 FM. Bobb currently works for the Ball State Recreation Center as a Fitness Room Monitor and an Intramural Sports Supervisor.
He lives in Muncie, Ind. and his hometown is in Greenfield, Ind. Bobb graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 2009. He played baseball all four years of high school.
Bobb's ultimate goal is to work for a sports team or sports broadcasting organization. He wants to do be doing either in-game announcing, sports commentary, sports reporting or sports highlights.

Craig Collins
Craig "Crash" Collins, born on February 14, 1991, is a native of Cowan, Indiana, just 20 minutes south of Muncie, Indiana. Collins attended Cowan High School and graduated with Honors before choosing to study Telecommunications at Ball State University. He began broadcasting in the fall of 2009, as a host on "Race Weekend Rewind" on WCRD. The show was picked up for a second year and renamed "The Pit Report" in the fall of 2010. He is also a co-host on "Cardinal College Gameday," heard before, during, and after Ball State football broadcasts. The nickname Crash comes form fellow radio man Spencer Frady, who gave Collins the moniker to serve as a persona as a part of WCRD's current racing show, The First Turn. In the summer of 2011, Collins interned at 1070 The Fan, ESPN Radio in Indianapolis. This fall, he was brought on to collect stats for 1070's high school football broadcasts. In addition to radio and sports, he is a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity at BSU. Other interests include social media, cycling, and fantasy sports.
Spencer Frady
Spencer Frady is a senior telecommunications news major. While at Ball State, he has worked as an anchor and reporter for Newslink Indiana where he produced video news packages on a regular basis. He is also an anchor and Assistant News Director at WCRD 91.3 FM where he helped develop and currently produces the new daily newscast. Outside of school, Spencer works as a reporter with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Media Staff. He covers the Indianapolis 500, Brickyard 400, and the Red Bull Indianapolis MotoGP. In his spare time, he is an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds, the Chicago Bears, and IndyCar racing. His goal is to work in television or radio news reporting
Kyle Haskins
Kyle Haskins is a senior telecommunications major at Ball State University. He plans to graduate in Summer 2012. His interest in Digital Media, specifically video editing, began while a student at Talawanda High School in Oxford, OH. While in high school Haskins earned Varsity letters in Swimming and Tennis, and performed in the Drumline.
Kyle is a lifelong Dodgers fan, who truly believes they will win the World Series every year. The past 20+ years have been rough.
Brad Huber
Brad Huber is a Junior Telecommunications and Journalism Major at Ball State University. Huber co-hosts a basketball show on radio station WCRD called Nothing But Net. He is also a sports anchor for Newslink Indiana, the student produced newscast. This year marks his first season as the radio voice of Ball State Softball.
This summer Huber will be a sports intern at WTHR 13 the NBC affiliate in Indianapolis. In the past he has worked at WNDE Radio in Indianapolis and Indiana's NewsCenter in Fort Wayne. He hopes to be a sports broadcaster in some aspect after graduating from Ball State.
Huber is a big sports fan and follows most sports but lists his favorites as racing and basketball. In his off time, Huber enjoys playing basketball, golf and going to the racetrack.

Jessica Knox
Jessica Knox is a sophomore Journalism/Telecommunications, news track major. She has been interested in sports since she was young, both playing and watching, but it wasn't until recently that she realized sports journalism was something that she wanted to pursue.
As a part of this project Knox worked with a group who talked with community officials and local business owners about their interaction and relationships with spring training teams.
She says her favorite part of the trip was following the different leads that they cultivated, "We would talk to one person who would then put us into contact with another individual he or she believed would be beneficial to our story."
Knox says ice hockey is her favorite sport, but can't wait to pursue a career covering any type of sport.

Joe O'Rourke
Joe O'Rourke is a 21-year-old junior who is double-majoring in Telecommunications and Journalism. He transferred to Ball State before his sophomore year from St. Joseph's College in Rensselaer, Indiana. He is a native Crown Point, Indiana, about a half hour southeast of Chicago.
O'Rourkes favorite baseball team is the Chicago White Sox. He is an extremely passionate fan, and has had the pleasure of going to many games throughout his life. He has traveled to Arizona to watch them play in spring training, and has attended a couple playoff games. He plans on working for the team at some point in his life, hopefully in the front office. He would like to be a part of the decision making of how a club is run, but O'Rourke says any job with the White Sox would be "a very cool experience."
Jake Perrone
Jake Perrone is a senior Telecommunications major from Austin, Texas. He has been a part of the college radio station WCRD 91.3, Cardinal Sports Live, and interned at Indiana's NewsCenter in Fort Wayne. He has been involved in sports his whole life, participating in football, soccer, and basketball. After college he plans to become an editor or producer for one or more sports shows. His favorite Major League Baseball team is the New York Mets.
Amanda Richardson
Amanda Richardson is a sophomore telecommunications and journalism major from Holland, Mich. Her interests include broadcast and nightly news. She is currently the assistant news director of NewsLink Indiana, Ball State’s nightly news show. Her future career goals include working for a news station as a producer.
Her favorite Major League Baseball team is the Detroit Tigers, but she can be found anywhere there’s baseball.
Stephan Sharp
Stephan Sharp is a junior telecommunications and journalism major at Ball State. His career goals include becoming a sports broadcaster and play-by-play announcer. Originally from Greenville, Ohio, Sharp has been involved with sports his whole life. Growing up, he played baseball, basketball and soccer. Sharp has enjoyed watching baseball as long as he can remember. He was just 4 years old when he went to his first Cincinnati Reds game and went to the first playoff game at Great American Ball Park.
Sharp is the play-by-play announcer for Ball State women's soccer and co-host of the "Kicking It with Coach Craig Roberts" radio show on SportsLink Radio on WCRD.
Sharp says that becoming a part of this class seemed like a great idea and a great way to cover a sport he enjoys so much. Getting the opportunity to cover Spring Training as a student, Sharp says, is "something I will never forget."

Jake Sittler is a 22-year-old senior magazine journalism major at Ball State. He came to Ball State after spending two years at Taylor University, where he was a member of the basketball team.
He has been an intern with the American Junior Golf Association and a contributor for the sneaker blog counterkicks.com. He also can be found debating the latest in hoops on WCRD 91.3's Nothing But Net radio show.
Sittler hopes to work in sports journalism after graduation, perhaps scouting high school or college basketball prospects. He says he took part in this class because, "I wanted to get hands-on experience working with professional athletes." He says the trip showed him the value of preparation and research when interviewing athletes and building stories.
Outside of class, Sittler is a sports enthusiast and can usually be found in the gym working on his jump shot.

Kevin Thurman is a junior Telecommunications and Journalism major on the news track and a Political Science minor. After graduation he plans to work in sports broadcasting and hopes to work for ESPN. Thurman is a member of the nation's first and only immersive sports learning production, Ball State Sports Link. He has had his work shown on Comcast Indiana, WIPB in Muncie, and nationally on Fox College Sports. Thurman is also the assistant producer for Ball State Sport Link's monthly sports magazine show, "Be A Fan", which airs nationally on Fox College Sports.
Thurman also participates in Cardinal Sports Live, a weekly sports talk program and is the on-court emcee for the Ball State women's volleyball and basketball games. In addition he is the public address announcer for Ball State Baseball, Field Hockey, and Cross Country. Steven Ward
Steven Michael Ward is a senior Telecommunications and Journalism major at Ball State University. Ward has worked extensively in student media, including the student newspaper "Ball State Daily News", WCRD radio and NewsLink Indiana, the student produced nightly newscast. Born in Anderson Ind. Ward's parents are Zane and Mary Ward. He has three brothers (Roger, Ricky and David) and one sister (Denise).
When not working, Ward's interests include the Indianapolis Colts, WWE, video games, baseball, football and all collegiate sports.
Steven Williams
Steven Williams is a junior Journalism and Telecommunications major at Ball State University. Williams' ultimate goal in the journalism field is to be a beat writer for a baseball team. He writes for the Ball State Daily News, where he was recently named Assistant Sports Editor for the Fall. Williams is currently the softball beat reporter.
His interests in writing include sports, music, movies and politics. He originally attended the University of Indianapolis as a computer science major but transferred to Ball State when he changed his major.
Williams is from a tiny town called North Judson, Indiana.
He is a Chicago sports fan, choosing the Cubs over the White Sox.
Suzy Smith
Suzy Smith is an Assistant Professor of telecommunications at Ball State University. Smith teaches courses in news writing and multimedia story presentation. She specializes in sports and news delivered via alternative storytelling formats, including mobile and Internet delivery systems. Before joining Ball State Smith spent more than 24 years in the news/communications industry as a senior producer with CNN.com, a senior producer at the Weather Channel, a supervising producer with CNN/Sports Illustrated, a 24-hour sports news network and a producer with CNN Sports.
